Aurora again

We are getting some amazing aurora, at least for lat 52N, on our colour camera right now! And a bonus fireball that just went over to the south of us...

Mark,

Yes, a really active aurora visible down to the the English south coast. I have a couple of IMX291 monitoring cameras operating in colour mode using the same hardware as the meteor cams but with the IR blocking filter in place. One of these is at my home in Chelmsford (latitude 51.8N) and one is up near the north coast of Scotland (latitude 57.9N). The still is from Chelmsford after the clouds cleared here but the the timelapse from Scotland shows that the aurora was very active all night. Shame about the clouds though.

Mark,
That is lovely and one of the inspirations for having my own camera.  Though I think hills here might scupper this.  Lovely image.  I noticed the aurora alert and a faint green tinge to the north when I had call to look out of the bathroom window last night.

Mark,

They are indeed. Great little things to keep an eye on the sky.
